Work-steps for "Calendar/Date implementation with custom view, Panels 2 mini panel and tabbed mini panel, and a theme function override for the breadcrumbs" from Patrick Phillips of the Vineyard Voice with consultation by Ted Serbinski:
In all it is a very clean and simple solution using CCK, Views and Panels 2 with a small amount of custom code. I have to thank Ted, for the 10th time, for helping me out.
Hi Ben,
I have some things like photos and some audio files and whatnot I could add to the site.
How do I know where something will end up and how it will be listed on the menus? For some reason I haven't figured that out.
For example, say I want to upload 10 photos from the old contest and want to show them on a page that also has brief text about the last contest. What menu/s will it show up under. Same for a couple of podcast files.
Is it easier for me to just make these entries part of my blog posts?

It's easy to set up Flock to blog to your Drupal site (or your blog on some huge community Drupal site!)
There's probably more than one way to set the settings (such as by clicking self-hosted blog under Blogging in the Accounts and Services sidebar), but here's one direct way that worked for Agaric:
Getting Drupal to connect on MAMP
I had to use the host name instead of localhost, and to provide the non-standard port number.
host: Ebony-II.local
port: 8889
Note: the host name will be whatever your computer calls itself plus .local, you can get it exactly from MAMP's PHPMyAdmin under system variable settings or some such (a huge long list of settings, that is not the run-time settings one).
I changed a line in php.ini --
Despite what Thunderbird thought,
Calais is not the oft-spammed product with a similar name.
It is, instead:
Did you add a taxonomy term to a vocabulary and it's just not showing up on existing content, contrary to all known laws of Drupal taxonomy?
Are you also using localization (l10n) / internationalization (i18n) such that your vocabularies and (even if you don't know it) terms can declare a language?
Check the language of that term. It will rudely default to the default language of the user you are using to add the term, even if the vocabulary overall declares itself to be neutral (blank) with respect to language.
Once some people get a little familiar with doing things with Drupal, it seems all further requests come as subsidiary requirements of the important thing: creating a menu item.
That's not really where I, as a web developer, want to come in on the conversation.
Someone tell me, am I making sense? What should I say?
More broadly: what should the relationship be, what should we as the alleged experts be asking our clients to do, in circumstances where their own inclination or financial situation is such that they need to do as much as possible themselves?
Agaric Design Collective will be working with BlipTV and Drupal 5. We're looking into upgrading the 4.7 module now and are wondering what development resources are available.
Solution: Updating to the latest nightly dev release of the module, from the 2007 November Beta, fixed it.
