Agaric wants to keep en for customized English in Drupal 5

Drupal can I use a custom language at en?

We need to customize some strings for WSF2008.net, so we have a custom localization language, eng, for our modified English. However, it seems like some modules (for instance LoginToboggan for the login at access denied redirect) may assume that en/ will be enabled for English.

Entirely unrelated:

Weird stuff in the localization translation string location:

c:\Contributions\modules\og\og.module:534

Ghosts of work done on other computers by translators or module developers?

How much time for functionality and theme?

I'm thinking about something along the lines of ... a message and discussion board anchored by a community of bloggers and feature articles. Of course we can do it. Of course I would learn immensely from doing such an initial project. But is that an afternoon of work or a four month project?

Functionality? An afternoon.

Really nice functionality? A week.

Good looking? Depends on Dan's tempo of inspiration, but if you provide the
design then he can turn it into a Drupal theme in a week.

Helping Agaric debug site availability or network issues for a site

Debugging site availability issues to a MS Windows computer.

Click on Start, Run, and then type cmd and enter.

On the command prompt opened:

  • type ping www.example.com (press enter)
  • type tracert www.example.com (press enter)
  • type telnet www.example.com 80 (press enter)

For all three, you can copy the output and e-mail it.

Feedback on proposal from Stephen Cataldo

1. Do you have a server that can handle all the video action on the day-of, without a smooth build-up, just that day the servers get pounded.
2. I'm not sure about this, but Google maps might have difficulties outside of key industrialized nations, converting addresses to long/lat. Was that what you wanted to use?

The Story on Agaric

I've always had a passion for good design and healthy coding, even back in the days of owning a web site cart in downtown Natick. Back then, my partner and I made all natural HTML roll-up web sites and, as an incentive for customers to wait in line, we baked Drupal into different flavored designs. The Drupal became remarkably popular and before we knew it, the Agaric Design Collective was born.

Today, you can enjoy Agaric Design sites in six great flavors. They are baked, all natural and totally delicious. So treat yourself well, and treat yourself often

Theming the User Profile Pictures in Drupal

In yet another installment of my latest documenting saga, we're going to cut through all the crap, and learn how to theme user profile pics in drupal.

I'm not going to take full credit for this, as most of the work was done by the good folks over at Lullabot...
