Testing email from the command line on GNU-Linux

Learning from May First People Link:

mail -s "hello jamie" jamie@a-friend-of-agaricdesign.org

this is the body.
.
Cc:

Don't forget that one period to close the body.

If it tells you command mail not found, you're starting at the beginning, and you should run:

aptitude install mailx

(The x is the important part, aptitude can't find the basic mailer you need to send e-mail among all the packages with "mail" in the name.)

Resolution

Searched words:
e-mail Debian send e-mail
