Making COAnews.org more participatory
Ben, you mentioned at the meeting that making the site more participatory might be a good idea. Just wanted to say I fully support that, would love to allow people to rate content, submit headlines (with high rated going to the front page), and submiiting blogs and articles too. Our managing editor has agreed to moderate this.
It would also be great if I could easily feature blog/video posts from the FSTV community - like by clicking something and making it a feature on our site without having to re-post. Seems like it would be a good selling point for FSTV to say that some content is picked up by us.
totally want to get here,
Steve
On the general topic of nurturing an online community, G. Patton Hughes is the Knight News Challenge / Idealab resident expert and said some insightful and maybe useful things recently:

On the technical stuff... Agaric needs to do it! Perhaps taking an RSS feed of FSTV content, including videos, with an aggregation module that makes feed items into nodes, is the fastest way to making it easy to pick up FreeSpeech videos.
