Letter to Digital Credit Union
[DRAFT]
Dear Person With The Highest Position at DCU,
Beginning in the first week of May i began contacting Digital Credit Union to be sure joining would meet the needs of my business. The telephone support was not very good, and in fact the people i spoke to encouraged me to go into a branch (after learning i had already read the relevant parts of the web site.
First i put all four Principals on the account, only to learn we would need photocopies of their IDs when i went in.
My business partner whom was also on the application, who actually has had excellent credit except for
Finally, we were told that the IRS EIN letter having Agaric instead of Agaric, LLC, as is on the Massachusetts certificate. At no point were we told this was the blocker; instead we were strung along for a week.
I feel like i have received a run-around. I feel like decisions are being made arbitrarily and capriciously, and more importantly, without regard for welcoming new people, and people starting new businesses, into DCU.
I was already a member of Merrimack River Watershed Council but the business partner joining with me signed up for AAPD right there, and we provided a check, which DCU cashed before turning down her membership in DCU. I would like the $15 returned or clear confirmation of this membership in AAPD.
It is with great regret that we take our business to a large corporate bank.
I hope DCU improves its customer service, drops its credit rating check for savings and checking accounts, and tries hard to accommodate current and prospective member needs rather than looking for reasons to avoid working together.

UPDATE: DCU called and apologized
Within a month of posting this, Digital Federal Credit Union called to say they had looked into the matter (yes, they had gotten a Google alert for this post) and that the person at the Framingham branch had made a mistake.
Unfortunately it was too late; Agaric is with TDBank for now, it's OK. Back to endorsing DCU and hope to be able to bank there!
