A matter of principal and priorities.

In our experience, the right type of client will tend to share our belief that ideas are cheap, and that successful execution is what's truly important, rare and valuable. They generally won't even ask for an NDA to be signed. If something's confidential, they'll just say, "Hey, keep this under wraps for now."

Displays your Terms & Conditions to users who want to register, and requires that they accept the T&C before their registration is accepted.

If T&Cs are changed users with an existing account will be asked to accept the new version, and will not be able to log in until they have.

T&C text should only be entered by administrators or other highly trusted users. filter_xss_admin() is used to filter content for display, this is a very permissive XSS/HTML filter intended for admin-only use.

The Checkbox Validate module is required.

This module adds Terms of Use and a [x] I agree check box to the registration page.

In Drupal 6, a required checkbox that's not ticked/checked will bypass validation. This module circumvents this known issue by doing its own validation for the checkbox.
