Got the EIN from the IRS by phone: XX-XXXXXXX
And the name needs to be corrected from "Agaric" to "Agaric, LLC."
Correcting this (or any name change or any correction at all to information associated with an EIN) requires the information on this entirely inappropriately named, nearly impossible to find (one link to it at the bottom of another rather un-related document:
http://www.irs.gov/businesses/small/article/0,,id=214471,00.html
Where it has this encouraging note: "The IRS will send a letter confirming our receipt of the updated information. If the entity has not received the confirmation letter within 60 days, it should fax a copy of the original letter, annotated “Second Request”, to the campus that services the entity’s state."
Two months before knowing if they even received the fax? Ridiculous. I should probably call to follow up. In the meantime we'll have to pay for the fax line - dedicated to communicating with the government! - for another month.
