"Journalism is the work of communicating facts as stories. Facts do not compel people to action. Stories do. The ethical responsibility of journalists is to tell stories consistent with fact."

This distillation of the obvious, that telling compelling stories that are true is the craft and the art and the calling of reporters, came to me with no particular inspiration that i recall. Everything that i come across after it is going to tie into it, though, so starting with what crossed my radar the very next day...
