How to Disable Comments

Agaric's posted this before, this page should be consolidated with another one somewhere else, but people keep asking...

You can disable comments by going to Administer » Content » Content Types, and then on Blog Post (or the content type of your choice) edit it and make sure comments are off by default. You can also turn off comments on a given post (while editing it) under 'comment settings' I think.

Turning off comments

Hi!

I have comments disabled in my content type, and when I go to the node teaser page or the node page, the "add a comment" link is still there in the node links.

Any ideas? If I figure this out, I'll come back and post a solution. I should also say that Drupal is offering the "Add a comment" link to logged-in users only.

I figured it out

If you already have content added before you disable comments on a content type, you will have to disable comments on each and every node added under that content type.

Something to keep in mind.
