Agaric Digital Productivity Services
Typical reaction to the concept, from the one person we mentioned it to: "Thanks for this! Very cool."
When Seth Godin speaks, we of the "hey, I can do that" school listen:
Here are three things that are true:
1. Digital technology, especially computers and cell phones, can dramatically increase productivity.
2. More and more users of digital technology are small firms or individuals.
3. The vast majority of users of digital technology are totally lame in getting the most out of the investment of their time and money.
"Oh, I didn't know I could do that."
"You mean I don't have to manually type my address book in by hand?"
"There are graphs in Excel?"
"Gmail is free?"
Here's what I haven't found: people who charge $100 an hour to hear what you do and how you do it and then show you how to do it better.

Digital Productivity the Agaric Way would include:
- Emphasis on open source free software solutions, and contributing toward the development of technology to meet common needs. (A week after this post Seth Godin was warning people about GMail's spam filter swallowing his e-mails.)
- Acknowledgment that you are the expert on you, and need knowledge about the tools available, tailored to your needs, perhaps you need some confidence and motivation, but the decisions have to be yours.
- A discount for the back-to-the-simple-life program we will also run for after you get addicted to constant internet connectivity.
