Safe Text: Filtered HTML Plus

The safetext module began as an idea for an installation aid, but

Any anonymous or just-registered authenticated user should be able to access the filtered HTML format, if you so choose. Trusted (but non-editor and non-admin) user roles should be able to access filtered HTML plus, meaning with images, at the least.

Agaric would like to sync Tomboy / Gnote with a Drupal site like Data.Agaric

Should be quite possible as Tomboy notes are saved in XML; not finding anyone doing it.

In Drupal, it would make sense to make Tomboy notes their own content type, so they could have their special linking, but full web content with pictures and taxonomy and all that good stuff would be separate, and could reference/include Tomboy notes.

A Love Song for NodeOne

I've suddenly and inexplicably become obsessed with the idea of the Kitten Killers doing covers of songs that feature the words "no one" in the lyrics replaced with NodeOne.

Searching all my days just to find you
I'm not sure who I'm looking for
I'll know it
When I see you
Until then, I'll hide in my bedroom
Staying up all night just to write
A love song for NodeOne

Agile for Drupal core: within-major-version API additions as a key element to the Drupal Developer Experience (DX)

We (the Drupal community) cannot expect webchick to look even once at anything that isn't truly needed for D7's release at this point.

But i think we cannot tell exportables and other developer experience issues to go to hell for the next year or three either.

Agaric wants an emacs orgmode-style input format for Drupal

There is apparently no such thing yet and this may be silly, but the idea is to have an input filter that would make a copy-paste of an emacs org-mode document look good-- perhaps even with collapsible sub-sections using JQuery.

Or, there's the obvious approach: let emacs export to HTML. http://www.randomsample.de/dru5/node/76

Validate, or better immediately redirect, duplicate CCK Link field submissions

When posting a link, use case being Add Web Link on data.agaric.com, the site should check if the suggested URL is a duplicate.

This is especially useful for new modules and Drupal Planet posts that we are all likely to notice at the name time.

Kathleen will be adding a check for duplicates to the validate function, but I'm interested in ways to check for duplicate CCK field links before letting the form proceed. Not sure how to catch it really early. AJAX could check continuously for changes in the URL.

Installing Drush

We are fTollowing our Debian-inspired sysadmin, Stefan Freudenberg, in the locations of this extra-Drupal project, but you can put it anywhere.

Remember to check the Drush project page for the latest version to wget, and replace the CURRENT-VERSION tarball link with that. This will be the last module you ever have to do that for.

Mindmapping with Freemind

File this under to do– get into mindmapping with Freemind:

Agaric wants CCK Field Permissions to have smarter defaults (let the world see!)

Enabling CCK Field Permissions (cck_field_perms in Drupal 5, part of CCK itself in Drupal 6) can create bugs on your if you aren't paying attention and cleaning up after it.

Some excerpts from IRC among people trying to figure out why an image on a news post simply wasn't showing up (for the user who posted it in this case, the authenticated role had editing but not viewing rights for the imagefield!).
