in #drupal i wrote:

@CCK_Extras - nice, eaton. Dan and I at agaric were just thinking about a textarea CCK field for 'steal this promo graphic' functionality. Now we have the base, and the home if anyone adds a 'steal this CCK image' display type -- image plus textarea with a link to it

It does get a little problematic when we decide where the link should link to. Does it have to be a compound CCK field? Messy. A sitewide setting? If that's even reasonable for a CCK widget. A sitewide setting to link a given URL type with an image type? Bleah. Could that setting go right in it? That is, the second screen after you select CCK image promo lets you put the URL you want it to go to...
