Opt-in for contact from future WSF activities so site doesn't dead-end

Benjamin:
An aside: I was thinking it would be great if all the events like the US social forum could send their lists to be pre-registered with WSF2008.net. But they didn't ask people permission for this ahead of time, of course. Should we have a checkbox for "Let coming social forums in my area use my registration information" and/or "share with national social forum groups"?

Jason:
I think the correct way to do this is that each organising committee sends a mass mail to their participants talking about the wsf2008 and saying that they can register and propose actions. We can use a common format of this message if it makes it easier.

ok for me

I agree with Jason. What I was trying to say is that we should ASK people when we do THIS site if we can share their information with FUTURE sites/events. Because arguably registration information shouldn't be shared without asking first.

Being able to pre-register people with future sites can really help participation. //

Good idea.

Resolution

WSF2008 will give people the option to be contacted by successor sites.
