This website is composed of information connected through taxonomy. It is simultaneously a proof-of-concept and a means to allow Agaric to share and store information both within the collective and the world as part of our open documentation philosophy.

(but probably just the name of the project, not a formula like that)

And then a separate taxonomy, with something like this:

Public
Private

Or maybe more properly:

Incidental documentation

The point is I'd like to attribute code improvements, new discoveries, etc. to the project we were working on when the issue came up (to make it easier to find again and to help us see how we spent our time) but the main view of a project should exclude such miscellaneous notes.

Some cool thoughts:

The Network is the Computer, on the way we can give a better user interface to the Internet than web browsers.

I, and some others, have thought how cool it would be to have a desktop version of Drupal...

... combine that with some amazing distributed version controlled sort of database, where every location keeps a backup of every other location, and you have the ideal, indestructible, use-everywhere application.

Firefox has built-in search of visited sites' names

This piece of Agaric is blogging the obvious because I searched for a Firefox extension to search its history of visited sites.

Just go to History, and the last option: "Show in sidebar" to have access to the history searchbar.

However, there is one significant drawback to this history search: it only finds keywords in the title of sites visited, not the URL.

So we at Agaric still want more...

Media Democracy Day

It seems to me that the MDD site would be cool if it was more then just a basic info site on media democracy. What I'm thinking is maybe using same voting system you're developing for COA News/FSTV we could make the site kind of like a basic Digg.com but for just media democracy issues, with the center column all the stories that get a certain number of votes automatically.

-the site could remain the same, we would just add this on, and move the main page content elsewhere.

Edit links on Drupal teaser listings

Agaric wants edit links on Drupal teaser listings, possibly as a user-configurable option, and especially when the whole node shows up in the teaser.

Searched for this a while ago ("drupal edit links on teasers") and this page came up again!

It seems it is still needed.

1.I think we are ready to let editors test some stuff. How do I give
them access? Can they just go to the site and login? Or do I need to set
up user names and privileges.

Yes. They will have to register (or be assigned roles) again when we go live, as we will be using the same user base as FSTV. Whom we have to ping again on live access.

Article Theming Questions

1. Do you want the tool box embedded on the right at the top of a story, at the bottom of a story, or in the middle as presently?

2. Do you want it with the same title, "Tool Box" or instead Toolbox or something else?

3. Do you want the date of posting the story up top as on Tiki Wiki or not at all?

Do you want fields on the content submission form for the byline (e.g. "BERLIN, May 10 (IPS)") so that (a) it can be themed differently at any time and (b) articles can be sorted by this date and possibly location (as opposed to date of entry, which can also be messed with).

Women in Open Source
