P.S. Other notes from the podcast:

  • People ARE working on a package installer (apt-get) for Drupal!!!

  • So Drupal 6 has the ability to run Drupal from the command line.

  • Other cool stuff in Drupal 6: the watchdog can e-mail you on just
critical errors, and log everything else to Linux instead of the DB.

  • Possible to filter URL aliases on the admin screen (it's an example module
in Drupal Pro Dev, and now part of core)

  • Internationalization improvements, including separate column for language

  • Theme system improvements: Lots more template files in core (and so also
contrib) modules that you can override in theme, simply by copying and using.

  • Forum display easier to display.

  • OpenID

  • Actions in core. Anything you want to do, send an e-mail when a user flags a node or something

  • User profiles easier to theme. You can do a lot more with the user page.

  • Update Status module in core.

  • AHAH in core! A more button to get more fields! Put in poll module, but that's really just to make it available for CCK. Right now it works on buttons, but may apply to any form element. Without a single line of javascript. Change weights on blocks live! Nate's work.

  • And that's made possible by a rewrite of FAPI again. Really fixing issues on the edge cases of Form API use.

Resolution
