FreeCycle Yahoo-groups only?

The Framingham Freecycle group is a part of the larger Freecycle Network. To the best of my knowledge all approved Freecycle groups use Yahoo, and the Framingham group would not make a move unless the rest of Freecycle decided to transition to a new platform. For more information on the overall Freecycle organization, please visit http://www.freecycle.org/

Framingham Freecycle moderator, Linda

In response to my inquiry:

The SocialWay project - http://SocialWay.com - is going to transition
to nonprofit status, open source free software, and continue with no
advertising. What would it take in features for Framingham Freecycle
to consider using it instead of Yahoo Groups?

Just relocated from Georgia in need of everything.

Possible open source platform for freecycle

I didn't know anything about this SocialWay project, and having gone over to the site, I couldn't find much info on there and the blog gave me a JDBC error - oops!

But anyone reading this post may be interested in another project I found whilst performing the same search that led me here:
